8 NL Photographers Who Dazzle Us Behind Their Lens

Capturing all that makes Newfoundland and Labrador glitter is no easy task. We recently short-listed 36 of NL’s finest tourism photos for our own website collage.

But it is this eclectic group of 8 photographers who capture NL’s finest and thrill us time and again with curious, creative and insightful photography.

1. Paul Kinsman
St. John’s

Paul Kinsman is a musician by birth and radio host and media producer by choice. This beloved broadcaster and multi-instrumentalist has performed alongside countless NL artists including Ron Hynes, Barry Canning, and Alan Doyle just to name a few.

As a visual artist, Paul knows no limits in the photography and media production realm with sensational, quirky shots and creative, bold videography.

2. Paul Dolk
Open Hall

Dutch-born, Paul Dolk is a nature photographer and videographer who calls two provinces home, Newfoundland and Friesland, Holland. Since his arrival, Paul has captivated us from land, sea, and sky capturing Newfoundland’s spectacular natural habitat with dazzling brilliance.

Paul’s work is proudly on display at his studio “Stage of Art” in Open Hall during the summer months. Be sure to stop in and say hi on your NL travels.

Torbay

Valerie likes to describe her photography as “Just For Fun”, so our fingers are crossed she gets serious. Valerie is a passionate photographer who captures the timeless tranquillity and beauty of our island. Her sweeping images of Newfoundland’s natural and cultural landscapes always leave us in awe.

4. Dru Kennedy
Corner Brook

Dru is an action and landscape photographer on Newfoundland’s west coast. An outdoor enthusiast and avid snowboarder, Dru delivers electrifying photography of our dramatic landscapes and heavens.

Dru’s feet are planted firmly on the ground but you will often also find him looking to the stars.

5. Geoff Goodyear
Happy Valley-Goose Bay

Geoff has been involved in photography, both as a professional and an amateur, for over 40 years. A naturist and historian, Geoff is a helicopter pilot by trade, so not a bad vantage point for a photographer.

Geoff’s breath-taking images capture some of Canada’s most remote regions and tell the countless stories of northern Labrador.

Paradise

Gord is a landscape, seascape, cityscape and nature photographer. Photography is an obsession of Gord’s and he describes himself as a lifetime student of photography, rather than a student of photography.

He is an exceptional, vivid photographer who continually explores and captures the microcosms of NL life.

Newfie Nomad is the dynamic duo of Wayne and Heather Bryant. Two years ago they were living in Kelowna, BC and decided to get out of the rat race and follow their true calling.

Heather is a passionate photographer with a keen eye for capturing the perfect shot. Wayne is a commercial pilot with a background in digital media and design.

Combining their aviation, videography and photography backgrounds, Newfie Nomad shines brightly as they capture the countless gems and treasures we call home.
